"A great course, you are completely generous with your knowledge and tools. I feel even people experienced in this area would gain something from seeing the way you do things and the format you have put into place."
Fiona Gordon (Dietitian) Mission Beach, Australia
"I loved your EAF course. It covered far more than I expected and I would highly recommend it to anyone who works with fussy eaters.
It was an asset having the course content delivered in a small group setting as it allowed space and time to ask ask questions."
Monique Winderbaum (Dietitian), Sydney, Australia
"I found the course invaluable. As a nutritionist I have the knowledge of what children need to eat to grow and thrive but your book, blog and this course have helped me to understand that what really matters is children's long term relationship with food and their bodies.
I feel that this course has equipped me with a lot of theory and practical tools that I can use to help many parents and their children; I really enjoyed the interactive nature of it, the chance to ask questions and having a lot of time to discuss individual cases."
Viola Stolarska-Davies (nutritionist), Brighton & Hove, UK, www.peasandlove.co.uk
"I would recommend this course to a colleague, I think it gives a good framework, the tools that you have provided are simple and effective... I also enjoyed the format, a small group was a nice way to learn."
Natasha Lane (Dietitian), Melbourne, Australia, www.allovernutrition.com.au
"This course is a great mix of reflective practice and advice from Jo's career and research. So many pearls of wisdom to grab and think about later on." Brydie Pendergast (Dietitian, Albury Wodonga VIC, Australia)
"Great introduction to EAF and how one may apply it to practice. Nice that it is a very small group, so able to ask lots of questions and time for discussion" (Michelle Coulson, dietitian, UK)
"EAF was a new way to approach food and eating that I hadn’t heard of before but it fits with how I feel about supporting regulation, connection and a sense of safety, so this felt ‘right’." (Kim, SLT, Queensland, Australia)
"I would recommend the training for anyone working within a feeding space" (Kate Jones, SLT New South Wales, Australia)
"[EAF1] was extremely helpful and helped define what type of feeding therapist I want to be" (Michelle, SLT, USA)
Re EAF1: "Lots of practical information... has really helped my confidence"
Re EAF2 "Do it! Change the feeding world!" (Lyndsay, OT, UK)
[EAF2] will change your feeding practice and how you approach feeding work. I have already been recommending this course to lots of colleagues" (Becca, OT, UK)
"I have already studied responsive feeding, but I feel that with Jo everything is easier to understand. I am increasingly certain that this is the approach that makes sense to me and respects parents and children as they are. After all, feeding a child is difficult." (Filipa Gomes, Portugal)
"Great course, giving another perspective for helping clients, done in small groups so plenty of time for questions and discussion" (Anon)
Live Online Training
Whether you are a seasoned feeding professional looking to develop your skill set in relation to feeding dynamics, or are new to the field and are just beginning to specialise in paediatric feeding, I have a professional development option for you.
I run small-group online seminar courses for professionals (e.g. OTs, SLPs / SaLTs, RDs, nutritionists & Psychologists) at various levels. I also offer bespoke one-to-one training packages, clinical supervision and case consultancy.
I have three main online programmes, all drawing on my Emotionally Aware Feeding (EAF) model, which comes under the Responsive Feeding Therapy umbrella.

EAF3 - This experiential course teaches clinicians who are not mental health professionals how to incorporate counselling skills into their practice when working with parental anxiety and the relational aspects of feeding. Jo draws on her experience as a former senior lecturer in counselling to help you develop your helping skills while recognising how to stay within scope.
There are no prerequisites for this course but it is intended primarily for feeding professionals who already have a grounding in responsive feeding therapy.
Format: classes are live online in a small group
Class length: classes are 120 minutes each
Class size: 8-12 people

Total taught hours: 16

Additionally, due to popular demand, Jo now offers EAF1 for mental health professionals.
This is a course for counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists - no prior knowledge of feeding work is required but it includes plenty of content for those already in the field, as well as offering an introduction to feeding work for those who are newly interested in specialising or are developing their skill set to include paediatric feeding / ARFID.
You will be introduced to the fundamentals of responsive feeding and will learn about the main drivers of avoidant eating. There will be thoughtful discussion about the line between therapy and health coaching, and where the two may meet.
This course provides a foundation for you to go on to EAF2 where you will be introduced to Jo’s five phase Responsive Feeding Therapy model. Details above.
There is rich information in these courses for professionals working directly with children and young people, but the model Jo shares is geared towards primarily working with parents. The importance of involving parents rather than working solely with the child or young person, is one of the topics you will engage with on this course.
